Server Hosting

Well, I could host a 64 player BF2142 server for a year. The cost comes out to around $480USD/month.

While I could afford to pay that every month, I don't really want to. So my questions is this:

Would people (Singaporeans, mostly) be interested in paying $7.50/mo ($11.25 USG) for VIP server access to a ranked 64player server?



I also had another thought, setting up a ladder and hosting Clan vs. Clan ladder matches, like 20 vs 20, or whatever number would be most conducive. The benefits for the clan would be training, ranking by clan, bragging rights, and if I can scrounge up sponsors then possibly offer prizes in tournaments.

Any of this sound interesting?

Lol you pretty much came up with this idea far too late man this game is dying, once CoD4 comes out I think I would hardly play 2142

Yeah, disappointing... I've noticed that even from a few months ago the servers aren't as full/active as they used to be.

If COD4 lives up to the legacy I'll be buying it, I think SGAF will be my surrogate clan till I get back Stateside.

haha i guess u have made urself quite familiar to members of SgAF.. many of us know u ingame so do join us in squads.. definitely fun to play together as we can all learn as a team
in any case, shld we move to cod4.. hope u will be able to join us ingame =)

heres input from me : When my clan hosted the server, no-one joined, so we took mit down a few days later We're thinking of hosting a COD4 server atm (my comp owned me cod4 wise, the videocard cant run it but i bought it anyway)

We run 2 halo CE servers and 1 halo pc server ATM, and our main server is ranked quite high, 11th actually =P
