serious, this game is excellent. the multiplayer part though similar to cod4, i find it so interesting it being in a ww2 setting. the singleplayer is awesome too.. hard to see why there are still negative reviews here n there.. its NOT an exact copy of cod4!!

CoD 5: World at War - Page 3 Empty Maps

Post  Hydriz November 30th 2008, 3:34 am

GG. My COD doesn't allow me to load certain maps like Asylum, Castle and Outskirts. Anyone know wad the problem is? I reinstalled the game already and the same thing still happens. Furthermore, when i play single player, it hangs on my 3rd mission. -.-" Either i get this problem solved, or it's time to sell this game.

doesn't allows as in? which server do you play on for MP? maybe you can try installing the latest directX, updating PB to the latest version or reinstalling. since your SP hangs on the 3rd mission, there could be some issues with the maps so maybe that's the problem.

Otaku, here is wad i did to resolve the problem.

I updated my graphics card through this process:
My Computer -> View system information -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Display adaptor (Right-click + Update)

Now, those maps that gave me problems are resolved. Asylum and Outskirts are both playable for me. However, i have not tried the SP mission 3. After my exams and i'll do it. =) Hope that it works for yours too!

i wld think if u like cod4, the transition wld be quite easy..

although the gameplay is slightly different from that in bf series, with some combat sense/experience brought over from the bf times, it wouldnt be quite difficult to enjoy the game too. more time could be spent to fully appreciate and discover the game hehe

for me, to actually match 2142 gaming experience to that of cod4 and cod5, i actually set the controls of my cod4 n cod5 to exactly the same as wad was used in 2142. makes the transition much smoother =)

cod5 similiar in some areas in cod4 but not exactly a copy.. woody guns as mentioned by ace, and certainly has it own set of challenges.

also, there is the introduction of the zombie mode, and solo/co op mode which is different from multiplayer.

team up with up to 4 other friends to embark on a singleplayer mission, or a zombie match Razz
