No more COD4...

I cant play CoD4 anymore for the time being, cause recently my bro reconfigured the cpu, then after i install the game, it says d3d9.dll is missing. Yes i know is the DirectX problem, so i uninstalled cod4 and installed directx and reinstalled cod4 and still cannot work....

No need to do all that...

If the same file is still missing, just go to http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3d9, download, unzip, and install the missing .dll file.

Done that, after that it says some file is missing from......ahhh forget already....

Okay, i done what Kuyajin said, download the dll file, placed it in cod4 folder, run the game
Still error but this time it says : The procedure entry point DdEntry10 could not be located in the dynamic link library DDRAW.dll
Help....

OK, so go download DDRAW.dll from the same website I listed above. Of course, your other options are to reinstall DX entirely...

It sounds like your brother has been messing w/your registry, or maybe just deleting stuff he had no business deleting.

After the ddraw.dll is done, same error came up...
Now is : The procedure entry point MakeCriticalSetionGlobal could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.
THIS IS GETTING FROM BAD TO WORSE!!!
And downloading the kernel32.dll from the website doesnt help cause the same error comes up again...
Re-installing the DirectX doesnt help...

like EA, they have a technical gp answering problem that their customer faced, i wrote them once because of BF2142 problem, they actually helped me solved the problem. so sometimes it's quite useful to ask the game company what to do when you have any problem.

ya same for me i had a major problem in bf2142 back then and the technicla support helped me with it too. they are pretty gd cos they track the status of the problem and get back to u at the end to see if the prob has bene solved. cant rmb wad my prob at that time was though lols.

starhub also not so good. last time i read newspaper, it said in a few years later, a new company will set in from hk, providing a much high speed network than both starhub and singnet. if i didn't remember wrong, it's like almost 1gb per second. hopefully it's true.

Okay i found out what is happening, its not the game problem, its directX...
I cant seem to update from 8.1 to 9.0c, i downloaded the directx 9.0c many times and yet it still remains 8.1...
Help anyone?

maybe close every program which u suspect might use directx, try reinstall agian, restart com?
maybe try uninstalling directx, then reinstalling the newer version?

btw, how u found out is the directx problem?

Cause i installed DirectX 9.0C multiple times and when it says its components are ready to use, its still the old 8.1 instead....

can not try to uninstall all direct x version then try to install again??

If uninstalling directx needs to have to reformat the com, i ain't gonna do it....

try typing dxdiag into ur run bar, go see each page the 'notes' section, maybe have? just a wild shot in the dark

which directx does cod nid? maybe install that version specifically? cos maybe ur com cant take 9.0c? just a thought

cod needs 9.0c and it cant be my pc problem...cuase b4 reformatiing, i was playing cod with some other games that need 9.0c...

right clik my computer, go properties, look for hardware manager or device manager or something, then look for any icon with exclamation mark?
at the same time update drivers?
maybe the video card driver which came with the reformat is old? according to PcPitstop, average age of drivers in brand new computers is about 4 months. so with and older computer...

well, im running out of ideas here, sry. any more techy sgaf out there?
